Our vision.

We have one clear vision: A world where women thrive in all beer spaces—whether enjoying it, crafting it, or leading the industry.

UK beer has been called out as having a culture of discrimination, harassment, and worse by people with lived experience in the industry. Alongside the impact of a brutal pandemic, this has shaken the foundations of an industry upon which British society was built. The future of the UK beer industry is uncertain.

What has been clear for a very long time is that beer continues to be a space primarily for and owned by men. Within so many beer circles, sexism is still rife and women continue to feel excluded. Worse still, many women have had such traumatic personal experiences within beer spaces they have entirely disengaged from the idea of ever wanting to be a part of it. In related news the UK has the lowest percentage of women beer drinkers in the world.

Change is long overdue. Beer has the power to do incredible good and beer people have the passion and drive to lead others who are facing and perpetrating similar behaviours by example.

We know change does not happen overnight and we know the pandemic has been a setback globally in progress made towards equality, so on we go.

Our mission is to influence, support, and help shape a beer industry fit for the future and resilient, where women have equal opportunities, feel welcome, and are safe. We will do this by getting creative, collaborating with good people, celebrating the positive impact women have on beer, and showcasing the advantages a feminist beer industry can bring.

We hope you’ll join us along the way.

OUR VISION | A world where women thrive in all beer spaces—whether enjoying it, crafting it, or leading the industry.

OUR MISSION | Our mission is to transform the brewing industry by dismantling gender barriers, offering education on beer’s diverse tastes and healthier options, and increasing meaningful opportunities for women. Through actionable initiatives, we prove that beer is for everyone, showcasing the tangible social and commercial impact of gender diversity. As advocates, we not only encourage change but also inspire the industry to create inclusive, safe and welcoming beer spaces for all.

OUR MANIFESTO AND SUCCESS MARKERS |

  1. All women are safe, welcome, and proactively supported in beer workplaces and public beer spaces.

  2. Women are at least equally represented

    - in beer marketing

    - in brewing roles

    - in brewery, pub and bar staff teams

    - and in senior decision-making roles and beer leadership

  3. All women have access to social, exploratory, and educational beer opportunities.

  4. There are positive women role models and spokespeople who are prevalent in the media and public eye who speak about beer and related topics (and not only being a woman in beer).

  5. All women are supported and developed in their beer careers, to include suitable management and leadership programmes and succession planning.
