Take up space on our new Advisory Board

2024 is a bit of a ‘pause and review’ year for Women On Tap CIC. In the seven years we’ve been doing what we do, so much has changed.

Securing finance to sustain our social enterprise on a year-by-year basis has become increasingly difficult. The new Dea Latis Gender Pint Gap: Revisited report presents evidence that things aren’t improving for women in the beer industry. We need to undergo a period of reflection.

We want to specifically look at three key areas:

  • How we establish financial resilience to do more and forward plan with confidence

  • How we develop impact frameworks

  • How we maximise available resource to amplify our mission

With this in mind, we are looking to establish a new Advisory Board to help us. This will initially be for a 6-month period as we work through a review process and develop some new plans for the next 3 years of Women On Tap CIC. It is a voluntary position and all meetings can be held online so that we can respect your time and get the most value from your commitment to us.

This opportunity is open to all, and we encourage anyone who has an interest in what we are all about to ignore that pesky Imposter Syndrome voice and put yourself forward.

We are really interested to hear from anyone who relates to the following:

  • You have significant networks in the equality space

  • You have an influential role and expansive connections in the beer industry

  • You have experience scaling social enterprises or non-profits

  • You have connections to leading brands and/ or influencers in the UK

It’s important to note we aren’t ONLY looking for these things and being passionate about what we do is a legitimate reason to submit an application. We believe this opportunity could provide excellent experience to those who are interested in board positions and would like to see what it’s like before embarking on a full commitment.

We are mainly looking for people who can advise our process, bringing their own knowledge and experience to the table. However, we would additionally benefit from people who are in a position to be introducers and ambassadors for Women On Tap CIC in networks and circles and with brands where we can access new opportunities and projects.

We ask for a minimum 4 hours a month for a meeting and some follow-up support each month.

We have no idea what kind of response we will get, but please know we may not be able to offer an Advisory Board position to all who apply. We envisage the Advisory Board will comprise around 5 to 6 people. We will aim to curate a group that is as varied and diverse as possible, with the aim of assembling a collective that we believe will deliver the maximum benefit to Women On Tap CIC.

Ready to apply?

To put yourself forward for one of these roles, please send us a maximum 2-page document stating:

  1. Why you want to join the WOT Advisory Board

  2. What you feel you can bring to the table

You can attach a CV if you have one, but you don’t have to do this. You also have the option of recording a 3ish minute video, if you’d prefer.

Whichever you choose, please send that to rachel@womenontap.co.uk by Monday 15th July at 5pm.

We’re excited to hear from you.
